RepostBy @wesleywang.dpt: "Shoulder Impingement Rehab ——- Shoulder impingement is a fairly common and can cause pain with overhead tasks. My goal in rehab is to promote better scapula movement particularly with upward rotation. Additionally, I’ll focus on rotator cuff and surrounding scapula muscle strengthening exercises. ——- Here is a series of exercises we did to promote better scapula movement as well as some closed chain and posterior cuff strengthening exercises. 1️⃣ Side lying ball toss - this is a dynamic rotator cuff strengthening exercises. Each time he catches it he has to slow the ball down working the eccentrics of the muscle. 2️⃣ Plank with rolling elbow reaches - another closed chain exercise that promotes scapula upward rotation and short range overhead movement. 3️⃣ Plank scapula protraction & retraction - this works on serratus anterior strengthening which is an important upward scapula rotator. The band is used for cuing as I tell him to push through the band. ——- 🙌🏼 Tag someone who could use these exercises! 🤷🏼♂️ Questions or comments? ̐ #shoulderrehab #Impingement #scapula #scapularehab #scapulamovement #rehab #strengthandconditioning #painmanagement #sportsperformance #pain #posture #stretching #prehab #bodyhack #bodyhackuae #gymnastics #athlete #physiology #motivation #stretching #athlete #chiropractic #training #motivation #flexibility #physiology #sport #strength #strengthconditioning #neurology
